In one word, if your state is even eligible for Tier 4............NOTHING!
People who have been laid off in the past six months or so will get NO federal or state extensions. Once again, the program is scheduled to stop at the end of the year. With all the cuts due to the sequester, the crisis in Syria now, and Congresses overall record of getting nothing done, there will be no more extensions. Prepare!

The distractions have overtaken, and the do-nothing congress just fiddles as Rome burns....same with most unemployment forums/sites.....where once there were throngs....now, most are ghost towns....

That is what I fear too, that their will be no extensions, my husband's initial state 26 weeks will end sometime in
December, if their is no extensions, and does not get a job between now and then, we will be screwed, with only me working, will not be able to pay all of the bills. I hope he finds something before then

I agree with 503 depressed, the forums are kind of dead now, I think most are discouraged, depressed, most likely not found jobs, that seems to be the norm now, everyone is discouraged depressed, with no light at the end of this dark tunnel, I know I feel that way, the future is so uncertain these days.

What happens after tier 4 ? You wipe out your bank account first You lose health insurance and can t see Doctors or afford meds. Then default on credit cards. Your car craps out, or you can t afford gas or insurance. Eventually you lose your house. You are forgotten by your country. You then try to live on 200 $ a month in Food Stamps, any odd jobs you can do,ie lawn cutting ect, and hopefully some help from family. if you are lucky. Prepare the best you can, BUT THERE IS NO WAY TO PREPARE FOR THIS HELL . How do I know, this it is my life since I was laid off in 2007 and ran out of UI in early 2010

Re: What happens after tier 4 (California) ?
What a sad state of affairs, so many people out of work, and the jobs are all gone. My husband was a victim of outsourcing, it was a good job with good benefits. He is in the same boat as millions, if they don't extend the UI extensions in December, he will run out also. Fortunately I work, so I would have to pay all of the bills from my job, which we will barely be able to do.
I don't know what is going to happen when eventually their are more unemployed then employeed, then the government will have to respond, it just has not gotten there yet, but it will. It is going to get much worse unfortunely
