nobody applying for jobs?
had this interesting thing happen today.....
went on job interview and when i asked the interviewer if he had what 20-30 applicants? he said no, only 5 people and one is driving from two states away, he knows people are on unemployment but why arent more people in Cleveland wanting to work?
he is using recruiting agencies for the most part, the recruiter who sent me in is from california....I use about five different job boards, but makes me wonder how efficient these people who whine about "wheres the qualified workers" are in advertising their job oppurtunity???
the pay rate is 3-4$/hr substandard and yes you need some computer competencey......but not rocket-science caliber...

Re: nobody applying for jobs?
Wow!
I've been on interviews for teacher positions and have been told that people with PhDs had been applying. Last week I was on an interview which felt like a rotating lab of people--when one person left another went in one after the other with several waiting and this too was not a great position (not good pay and no benefits).

Re: nobody applying for jobs?
i have had interviews with three people in the waiting room as well, and one coming out before i was called in....THAT i thought was about normal for these times....thats why i posted my experiance about someone who seemingly has/had trouble making it known that there was a job available............i thought it worth mentioning

Re: nobody applying for jobs?
I suspect that this experience is unusual unless the qualifications to fill this job are difficult to fill... I once applied for a teaching position that required certain classes that even most teachers don't have and the employer was having a hard time with that one, but she had many applicants regardless...
