Stupid question - paid weekly or every 2 weeks (California)?
Ok, so happily, I was off UI for so long I can't remember how this works - are we paid weekly, or every 2 weeks? I had a deposit on my EDD debit card last night for one week's pay, but I filled out the claim form for 2 weeks, as is the norm. This is my first payment on this claim, so I'm not sure if they messed up the 7 day waiting period, or if we only get one week at a time. Someone help the stupid!
(Yes, I called UI. Useless. Too busy to take my call, as usual.)

Thanks!
You might want to email the EDD (on their website). I've done that and always get a fairly quick reply...

marymc, yes probably every two weeks but if you posted what state you are in perhaps a member from that state could help.

What state? RI pays weekly, and there is a one week waiting period.

CA is every two weeks. I'm in CA too.
You might want to contact the EDD through their website and ask. They usually get back to you in a couple of days. I can never get through on the phone though have found the website's mail service helpful many times...

I will give it a try. I'd sure like to be able to pay my rent.

Just go onto the EDD's website--"Ask EDD" and ask them there. They usually get back to you in a couple of days. I've done this several times and they have always responded...

Hello -- Did anyone here ever find the answer to the question? I'm having the same exact problem/worry (California). I sent in the claim form for the first two weeks but was paid only for 1 week.

Fantastic. Thank you so very much. You'd think they'd make that information easier to come by, or at least alert you as you file. But noooo. :- )
