TeleServe from the Caribbean? Empty TeleServe from the Caribbean?

Post by willift Thu Feb 24, 2011 3:09 pm

Does anyone have experience with calling Teleserve from outside the US. My wife has an opportunity to go to Aruba and bring me (she's not bringing anyone else) and I will need to certify for EB using Teleserve. I plan to waive my benefits for the week I won't be available to work but we'll be in Aruba certieing for previous weeks.

My specific question. Does the IDES Teleserve 800 number accept calls from outsid ethe US?

Thanks for any input

I have no idea and don't know what state you are in.

I do know if you have Google Voice number you can use any phone to call another number. In another words, I dial my Google Number, then option 2 to dial another number. Can use PC to dial it too and it will call the phone you tell it to call then connect the call. Can use a land line phone, cell phone. Google Voice charges small overseas charges and sells it for minimum $10 block. Just looked & Aruba is 12 cents a minute. Just Google Google Voice for more info.

I use it for free toll & long distance calls. I did call London once & still have an $8 credit for International calling. Google was having issues keeping up with numbers in certain area codes. I signed up a long time ago so I have a local number in my area code.

Hope this helps.

You can set up a skype number and forward that to any number you want. That would work as long as you didn't lose your connection? Can you not certify online?

You can not certify online during the EB (last 20 weeks) portion of Illinois's unemploymentprogram, it has to be over the phone.

I'll look into the Skype idea. If I practiced here forwarding the number during my next couple of certifications I might be able to become confident it would work when I reall need it

What do you use for a head set and keypad when you use Skype?
